Mumbai Police register case against Tiger Shroff-Disha Patani for violation of COVID-19 restrictions in Maharashtra

A case has been filed against actors Tiger Shroff and Disha Patani for allegedly violating the pandemic norms, the Mumbai police said on Wednesday.

According to the police, the actors were found roaming at Bandstand Promenade and could not give a valid reason for being out of their homes after 2 pm.

“The case was registered under section 188 (Disobeying the order of public servant) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). No arrest was made because it is a bailable section,” the police added.

According to an order issued by the Maharashtra government, all essential shops are allowed to operate between 7 am to 2 pm. The state is under lockdown till June 15.

Meanwhile, India’s daily COVID-19 cases are gradually witnessing a dip as the country reported 1,32,788 new cases taking the tally to 2,83,07,832 and 3207 deaths in the last 24 hours. With this, the death toll in the country has reached 3,35,102. At present, there are 17,93,645 active cases in the country.

This dip in daily cases of COVID-19 has come over the last few days after the country witnessed a grim global record with 4.14 lakh cases in a day last month.
