Actress Bhumi Pednekar is celebrating her 32nd today. Bhumi made her acting debut in 2015 with ‘Dum Laga Ke Haisha’ alongside Ayushmann Khurrana. She received critical acclaim for playing an overweight woman who takes a stand for herself as she tries to win her husband’s love.
Bhumi has starred in several films that put across a social message such as ‘Toilet Ek Prem Katha’, ’Shubh Mangal Saavdhan’ which talked about issues such as the importance of sanitation and men’s sexuality respectively. She also featured in ‘Bala’ which not only talked about male pattern baldness but also threw light on the issue of colourism in our country.
Bhumi, who also lends her support to climate change, launched a campaign called Climate Warrior in 2019 to raise awareness on the issue. For her birthday wish this year, the actor wishes that the present generation should start restoring the planet.
“I think my wish definitely would be that our generation should be the generation that starts restoring the planet because that is most important. I truly wish that we address the dangers that we are challenged with and take steps to rectify it and that can only happen if we all change the way our perspective towards our planet is,” Bhumi told IANS.
The actress said she also wishes to continue doing good work and break boundaries.
“We have to realise that everything is limited and one day if we don’t stop, we will be done and over. For my career, my wish is that I continue doing good work and I continue breaking boundaries. The loyal fan base that I have created over the years I want to make sure that I don’t disappoint them,” she added.
On the work front, Bhumi was last seen in ‘Durgamati’ and ‘Dolly Kitty Aur Woh Chamakte Sitare’ alongside Konkana Sen Sharma. She also starred opposite Vicky Kaushal in ‘Bhoot Part One: The Haunted Ship’. Bhumi will be next seen in ‘Badhaai Do’ with Rajkummar Rao and ‘Raksha Bandhan’ with Akshay Kumar.
