Saurabh and Saumya married in 2016. Before they tied the knot, the two were dating each other for over a decade. The TV star refused to confirm her nuptials, claiming that she did not want her personal life to become a “public spectacle.” On January 14, 2019, she gave birth to a baby boy.

Speaking to Hindustan Times about her exit from ‘Bhabhiji Ghar Par Hai’, she had said, “I haven’t signed anything, and honestly I’m going to be picking and choosing carefully. I don’t have the incessant need to be seen on television every day. I have the desire to now really do something good and worthwhile, and I hope I get it. That’s going to be the quest now. There’s a lot of work around, but I’ll be choosy.”

For the unversed, Saumya began modelling early in her career, and in 2006, she was named ‘Femina Cover Girl First Runner Up. In 2011, she and Shah Rukh Khan co-hosted ‘Zor Ka Jhatka: Total Wipeout’ . She won the Best Anchor award for hosting ‘Dance India Dance’ for three seasons. For three seasons, she and Derek O’Brien co-hosted the ‘Bournvita Quiz Contest’. She played Kareena Kapoor’s sister Roop in Imtiaz Ali’s film ‘Jab We Met’, which also starred Shahid Kapoor. For three seasons, she was the host of ‘LG Mallika-e-Kitchen’.

She began portraying Anita in the comedy series ‘Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain!’ in 2015. She announced her exit from the show on August 21, 2020.
